The Problem

A Bel Air estate owner on Stone Canyon Road was completing a major outdoor kitchen renovation and needed a new gas line run from the meter to serve a built-in BBQ, side burner, outdoor patio heater, and a gas fire pit at the far end of the pool deck — a total run of approximately 85 feet.

What We Found

We calculated the combined BTU load for all four appliances and sized the line at 1-inch black iron to adequately serve all appliances at simultaneous operation. The run required trenching through a portion of the landscaping and under a paver pathway.

What We Did

We pulled the permit from the City of Los Angeles, trenched and installed the 1-inch black iron gas line, installed dedicated shutoff valves at each appliance connection and a master shutoff at the kitchen island, pressure tested the full system, and coordinated the city inspection. The pavers were carefully removed and reset after installation.

Result

All four appliances connected and tested operational. City inspection passed first visit. Pavers restored. Permit documentation provided. Full job completed in two days.
