The Problem
An Eagle Rock homeowner near Colorado Boulevard called 24/7 Rooter Service after experiencing a main sewer backup. When we arrived we discovered the home had no accessible main cleanout — a common issue in older Eagle Rock craftsman homes built in the 1920s-1930s.
What We Found
Without a cleanout we had to pull the toilet to access the main line from the toilet flange. Camera inspection after clearing the blockage confirmed the home needed a properly located cleanout installed for future service access. The main line ran along the side yard beneath a narrow concrete pathway.
What We Did
After clearing the blockage we installed a new 4-inch ABS cleanout with an accessible cap at grade level in the side yard, connecting to the main clay sewer line. We pulled the required permit and coordinated the city inspection.
Result
Sewer backup cleared and new cleanout installed in one visit. Future service calls can now be handled quickly through the cleanout without pulling toilets. Permit documentation provided.
